John Wick: Chapter 3 - Parabellum (2019)

"The path to paradise begins in hell."
Directed by: Chad Stahelski
Cinematography by: Dan Laustsen
Country: United States
Plot:
In this third volume, with a fat bounty on his head, Mr. Wick gets to play on co-op mode a few times instead of constantly being a one-man army - although there's still plenty of that - and the duos wipe out hordes of assassins' guild jabronis with ruthless efficiency.
Reasons to watch:
The first kill in the movie involves John shoving a hefty book into a giant man's mouth, twisting it, and breaking the dude's jaw, then holding the book upright on a table and snapping the poor outmatched sap's neck over it, and the movie only gets more insane from there. One of the best Just Turn Your Brain Off And Enjoy the Ride movies I've watched in a while. The first 20 minutes alone had me shouting at the TV. Parabellum also contains some of the best fight choreography of the 21st century, and I find it amusing that Stahelski cleverly works around any semblance of character development by continuously introducing barrages of outlandish characters. The fourth is supposedly the best in the series and I can't comprehend how it can get any crazier than this.
