Plot:

Visionary effects, explosive action scenes, scrappy underdog human characters with a badass female lead, endlessly quotable, hugely influential, a remorseless, relentless, terrifying villain, a menacing score, an apocalyptic sense of gravity, and unexpectedly humanist themes: it’s a perfect sci-fi action flick.
