Assault on Precinct 13 (1976)

"Look at that- two cops wishin' me luck. I'm doomed."

Directed by: John Carpenter
Cinematography by: Douglas Knapp
Country: United States

Plot:
A seemingly endless horde of violent street gangsters lays siege to a barebones police station and the scant few defenders inside.

Reasons to watch:
It's got great tension, a gripping synth score from Carpenter, and intriguing parallels to Night of the Living Dead (1968). [And that's about it from me. I don't think it's bad, but this is the third time I've watched this movie, and I've never understood why it's so celebrated within Carpetner's filmography. It has some exploitation shock factor, but the story is forced, and the characters are forgettable.]
