Carrie (1976)

The very first Stephen King adaptation is also one of the best.

Directed by: Brian De Palma
Cinematography by: Mario Tosi
Country: United States

Brian De Palma’s strikingly vivid adaptation of Stephen King’s debut novel also marked the first King adaptation, and a sign of things to come (the man already has 263 writing credits on IMDB, and counting). Carrie stands out as one of the most highly stylized adaptations of King’s work, and I believe is the most successful blending of his source material with the filmmaker’s own distinctive aesthetic vision.
